Week 14" How the title of my book is special.

I am reading the novel "Catch", by Will Letch. Questions come to mind while reading my novel; what does the title of my book mean, why did the author choose the title for this book, and why is the title to this book so special? As I read further in to the novel I notice the author uses the word "catch" to described motions and actions of the characters in the novel. I feel that this gives a hint to the reader as to why the title of the book is called "Catch". In my opinion the title of the book is realated to the situation of Tim Temples the main character and his new girlfriend Helena. In my words, Helena is Tims "catch" of the summer because this is the first time Tim has felt strong feelings for a women. I think the author choose this title to describe the situation between Tim and Helena. The title is so special for many reasons to give hint to the reader what the book could be about, the situation of the characters, also the book has to do alot with base ball, so I think the title has somthing to do with baseball situation of the story. All of the reasons stated above is why I believe the title of this book is so special. As a reader if I had a choice to change the title, I would not because the title brings questions to mind before reading the back cover; is this book about baseball ,a flu maybe or is it about a guy and a girl possibly falling in love. Well the reader don't know untill they read the book. I feel the title of the book really does pull the reader in to want to read more. I would recomend this book to any reader who likes to read about baseball, love, and comedy.

  1. Very thoughtful. I thought immediately of the game of "catch" that Tim plays with his brother...how really it was a big power struggle and led to their fight. I like all of the new ways of thinking this blog has given me.
